For more than a decade, Sunil Daft, 61, and his wife Shashi Late, 53, claim their home in Tamavua is their own prison because of harassments.

They claim chemicals and stones were repeatedly thrown into their home, through windows, doors at night.

They are now forced to wear masks after living in the home to protect themselves.

The couple believe the alleged attacks are linked to disputes over their land, even though they hold official letters from the Ministry of Housing.

We see chemicals being thrown into our window," Mr Datt said.

"Because of this land, they want to kill us or remove us. Sometimes at 2am, they throw stones. Before we pray, they throw stones. After praying, they throw stones."

Police reports confirmed that complaints have been lodge at the Valelevu Police Station twice, and one at the Nabua Police Station.

In response to the chemical attacks, questions have been sent to the Ministry of Health seeking a description of the substances being thrown at the couple's home.

As of today, the Ministry has yet to respond.

"We don't feel safe. We need help now. We don't want to stay here anymore. Everything is messed up," Mr Datt said.
