Couple On Murder Charge Files Second Bail Application

Defence lawyer Samuela Her­itage filed a second bail ap­plication for a couple facing murder charges at the High Court in Lautoka.

Mohammed Naushad and his wife Nazreen Nisha Khan are each charged with murder while Nau­shad faces an additional charge of criminal intimidation.

The couple allegedly forced an 18-year-old student to ingest a chemical in Maro, Sigatoka, on June 30 this year.

The matter was heard before High Court Judge, Justice Riyaz Hamza, on Wednesday and the State was represented by Alvin Singh.

Mr Singh said the prosecution’s position remained the same be­cause it still objected to bail for the accused persons.
