The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption yesterday sought for more time from court as they were still considering whether to discontinue the case against Opposition leader Sitiveni Rabuka charged with breach of bail conditions.

Rabuka who is charged with one count of breaching his bail conditions.

It is alleged that on June 18, Rabuka allegedly approached and interfered with one of the prosecution witnesses in relation to his substantive matter from which he was acquitted.

FICAC lawyer Sam Savumiramira had informed the court that they needed time to consider the letter from the defence counsel requesting the withdrawal of the matter.

Defence lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo had informed the court that they had previously asked the prosecution to file an application to discontinue the case by Chief Justice Anthony Gates in November, 2018.
