COVID-19: 4 Charged With Curfew Breach After Gathering To Get Haircut

Four men were produced at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday charged with failure to comply after breaching the 24-hour curfew in Suva.

Emori Ganilau, Tevita Roqica, Peceli Raduva and Nasoni Rakorobeci were alleged to have gathered at the Public Rental Board Flats in Raiwai on May 17 for a haircut.

Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne reminded them that a curfew was in place and ordered them not to reoffend.

The four men have been released on bail and their case was adjourned to May 26.

Meanwhile, a woman who was apprehended by Police on May 14 after she was seen walking along Grantham Road told the Court that she was chased by her husband and did not have anywhere to go.

Her case has been adjourned to June 18 for mention.
