COVID-19: 60,000 Targeted For Lautoka Screening
30 teams mobilised to test at least 6000 people per day.

Thirty teams, with each team consisting of a driver, recorder, Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel and temperature checker are conducting door-to-door screenings across Lautoka.
The teams were trained on Wednesday at Churchill Park, Lautoka, and the exercise will continue for 10 days.
A situational report released by the Commissioner Western Division’s office on Wednesday stated that the 30 teams were required to screen 6000 people per day.

The objective is to screen at least 60,000 people out of 95,000 people (80 per cent) living within the Lautoka demarcated area.
There will also be a mobile team conducting swab tests randomly, with 300 tests targeted per day.
The report also stated that a separate team was doing contact tracing at the Peceliema Church Circuit, Peceli Church Circuit and the Wainivakasoso Settlement.
These are the areas where the majority of those who attended the same funeral church service are residing.
These areas are located within or close to the municipal boundary. The priority areas for screening and swab testing includes the municipal boundary, peri-urban and surrounding rural areas.
The line ministries and key stakeholders have provided vehicles and drivers and two officers for each team to be part of the exercise as well.
