President of Methodist Church in Fiji, Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa has asked all church ministers to stop officiating weddings.

This announcement was made after a Minister breached Government precautionary measures and officiated a wedding of over 20 people in Nayavu Village.

As a result of the breach, the following decisions have been made by the congregation:

1. All ministers to stop officiating weddings until further notice.

Advice families who have wedding plans to postpone all their arrangements due to the current situation we are in. No one is above the law. The minister and everyone who were brought in yesterday will appear in court today.

2. Control the number of families attendees in a funeral.

Advice family members of the deceased that because of the precautionary measures set in place, only immediate family members are to be at the burial site and the 2 meters social distancing rule to be adhered to.

Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa has asked the members of the congregation to be ethical and act accordingly as expected.

"Our congregation look to us at this time for sound and wise advice. Yourselves have been briefed through out the week and hope that these information will be relayed to your congregation as it is," he said.
