Control of movement between containment areas will be strengthened from today.

Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong said people have been given ample time to return to where they reside.

He said public vehicles such as taxis and buses will not be expected to cross containment areas.

At a press conference last night, Dr Fong said: “As of now, all passes to facilitate movement across containment zones will be issued by MOHMS (Ministry of Health). This will be reserved for medical emergencies and other exceptional circumstances, including funeral arrangements”.

Dr Fong said a list of dialysis patients is also at the border with the police teams.

However, the ministry is encouraging these patients to enter and stay within the lockdown area for the next 14 days.

Dr Fong said the exchange of food and medicines can be facilitated at the border provided delivery arrangements to the border and from the border to the recipient is organised by the requesting party.
