As the greater Nadi and Lautoka were declared lockdown areas, police officers were deployed this morning to ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

Business houses in Nadi town were closed and the streets empty.

Police operations are underway as we continue to monitor the borders of entry into the restricted Momi Junction and the Mulomulo Police Post towards Sigatoka, to Nacilau, Vakabuli, and the Waiwai crossing bearing towards Ba.

Currently, a 24-hour curfew is in place within the greater Nadi and Lautoka area and the general public is advised to adhere to lockdown and curfew restrictions in place.

Those commuting were asked by Police about their intentions to travel.

Any unnecessary movement will not be tolerated.
