The driver who was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Nadi last week died at the Lautoka Aspen hospital on Saturday.

Dead is Dharmendra Singh, 62, he is from Nabitu, Kavanagasau, Nadroga. He is remembered as a man with a ‘good heart’ by his neighbour.

The late Mr Singh was travelling with his wife in their vehicle towards Nadi Town when it allegedly collided head-on with a truck on April 18 at Korovuto, Queens Highway.

His wife, Bijma Wati sustained injuries and was discharged on Sunday. She is recovering at their residence.

The late Mr Singh’s friend, Pundit Abhay Sharma, 62, said their last meet-up was during the Ram Naumi pooja, the night before the accident.

“We grew up together, I remember him well from our childhood days. I had officiated at his wedding and other pooja that would take place at his home,” Mr Sharma said.

“Sadly, I will now do the rituals at his funeral.”

He is survived by Ms Wati, two daughters, and five grandchildren. He will be cremated at the Kavanagasau Crematorium tomorrow.
