Crossing The River For His Students
We are on holiday with full pay. So at least we make sure that we deserve the money being paid to us.

Aporosa Bole is a shining example of why teaching is a noble profession.
He recalls that as a student he had to trek 32-kilometres from his home in Nabukaluka Village, Naitasiri to attend secondary school in Namosi.
Today, Mr Bole, now the head teacher of Nabukaluka District School ensures his students do not miss out on any schoolwork.

He knows too well the importance of education.
He crosses the Waidina River to get to a hill near the school to get internet connectivity to download teaching worksheets prepared by teachers.
He then walks to three different villages and delivers the worksheets to the Turaga ni Koro, so they can be distributed to students.
He later returns with the completed worksheets.
Mr Bola does not mind doing this and says that personally, it is important to do this for the young children.
“No child is to be left behind,” Mr Bola said.
“We are on holiday with full pay. So at least we need to make sure that we deserve the money being paid to us.”
Mr Bola said as a former student of Nabukaluka District School, he believes it is important to ensure that all children in his district had access to better education.
Mr Bola has urged Government to look into the issue of network connectivity in the area.
He said tertiary students are climbing trees to ensure they can complete their assignments.
He said in the lush green valleys of Naitasiri, there is a hill near Nabukaluka Village, this was the only place which the network was clear.
“Everyone has access to the internet. But for the people in Nabukaluka and surrounding villages they are left out,” he said.
