The Ba Town central business district (CBD) was on lockdown yesterday as floodwaters crept into shops damaging goods and supplies.
Ba Town Council chief executive officer Dip Narayan said: “Flooding started in the bus station and market areas and then towards the main street.
“As of now, we do not know how much damage has been caused to the businesses within the CBD area as shop owners could not enter their shops.

“The waters had receded by 2 pm but the lockdown prevented any movement in the town.
“The most affected area was the market and bus station areas and shops nearby.
“All shops here were underwater.”
