Emosi Lutu never thought that his youngest daughter Merelesita Lutu would die so early.

But he was thankful that he was blessed with a daughter who always put people first before herself.

Mr Lutu and his daughter Alisi Lutu, arrived at the Waiqele Airport, Labasa yesterday to identify the body of Merelesita Lutu.

“My daughter was a lovely child, and she was someone who will go out of her way to help her friends. She was always bubbly and always smiling. She was someone who had a great personality,” Mr Lutu said.

“We had plans for her 21st birthday on June 1, unfortunately that will only be a memory. We miss her and she will always be in our hearts.”

Mr Lutu with tears said his daughter always wanted to become a pilot.

“She studied for a few weeks at a university but then we noticed that she wasn’t happy. I asked her if she wanted to be a pilot and she said yes. I told her that it would not be cheap and she should study hard,” he said.

“I didn’t know that last week Friday would be the last time I will speak to my daughter. Everyone that knows my daughter knows her personality and how she was.

“We are waiting for my elder son who is coming from England. He will arrive next week Friday because that is the only flight he could get,”

“Families are waiting at home and preparations for the funeral will take place after the post mortem and her body is released to us,” Mr Lutu said.
