Dakuiboca Is New DPO North

Former provincial administrator (PA) Caka­udrove, Setareki Dakuiboca, has been appointed divisional planning officer (DPO) Northern.

Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima welcomed the newly appointed DPO Northern.

Mr Dakuiboca was awarded the position after a successful screening of applicants following an advertisement.

“We welcome Mr Dakuiboca. I have a lot of ex­pectations, but I believe he has the capabilities to carry out his responsibilities judging from his experience as the provincial administrator for Cakaudrove,” Mr Rainima said.

“I strongly feel that he is the right choice to take up the position after working with him for some time.”

Mr Dakuiboca said he was looking forward to utilising his expertise gained from various roles build­ing up to his current position.

Of Lokia, Rewa, Mr Dakui­boca had served as the ex­ecutive officer planning for the Central Division, act­ing divisional officer Suva and divisional of­ficer Korovou-Tailevu.

He then com­pleted his Masters in Community Development and Lead­ership in South Ko­rea in 2015 to 2017, before taking up the post as PA Cakaudrove for the past three years.

“We are aligning our duty to the vision of the Com­missioner Northern and also towards the National Development Plan in terms of reaching out to con­nectivity, accessibility, water, sanitation, power,” Mr Dakuiboca said.

“We have our development draft plan and align it with the strategic plan of the Min­istry of Rural Development,” he said.

Acknowledgement

Meanwhile, Vishwar Deo, who had act­ed in the position, has since resumed his former role at the Office of the Commis­sioner Northern.

“Mr Deo was acting on the DPO post and will be taking his outstanding leave as he will be retiring soon,” Mr Rainima said.

“I thank Mr Deo for his outstanding sup­port he has given me in the office as my role as the commis­sioner. We have offi­cially acknowledged and thanked him for his services as acting DPO.”
