Darsh Tops as College Dux

Jai Narayan College's 2024 dux, Darsh Prakash, 18, attributes his success to a consistent approach to learning and the unwavering support of his teachers and peers.
"Having the right attitude towards learning and being surrounded by the best teachers were huge contributors to my success," Darsh said yesterday.
His journey began in Year Nine in 2020, marked by high expectations from his parents and teachers.

Although winning the dux award wasn't a specific goal, it lingered in his mind as a possibility.
"I wouldn't say I tried harder than usual for it. I put the same effort into all my exams," he shared.
As a pure science student, Darsh faced tough subjects and intense competition.
"Consistency was key. The subjects were challenging, but I focused on my studies and was fortunate to have supportive teachers always willing to assist," he said.
The shortened academic year posed another hurdle, but Darsh adapted his schedule to stay on track.
"I managed my time better to overcome this challenge," he added.
Reflecting on the achievement, he expressed gratitude to his teachers and friends.
"Taking the top prize home feels great, and I'm thankful for everyone who helped me get here."
Darsh's father, Inesh Prakash, was pleasantly surprised by the achievement.
"I wasn't expecting him to win the dux award when he left home this morning. It was a blessing from God," he said.
"I'm incredibly grateful to the school for nurturing his abilities and guiding him to success."
Darsh now plans to pursue a career in medicine, carrying forward the same dedication and gratitude that shaped his remarkable school journey.
