High Court Judge, Justice Riyaz Hamza, has set the pretrial conference hearing date to November 28 for the case of five people charged with the murder of Eneri Ali in 2021.

Brothers, Rusiate Kevin James Lal, Ronald Simon Lal, Ron Tuivuna William Lal and their parents, Sundar Lal and Baleiwai Waqabaca Lal, are each charged with the alleged murder of Eneri Ali on September 19, 2021, in Navakai, Nadi.

Subanjal Nair represented Rusiate, and Ronald, Roneel Kumar represented Ron Tuivuna while Ravneet Charan represented the couple. Prosecution was represented by Prenika Lata.

Ms Lata said the matter was pending the pretrial conference checklist, however the state was still in the process of finalising the same and that the admitted facts for Sundar Lal and Baleiwai Waqabaca Lal were awaiting execution.

The court heard that the state was to finalise the pretrial conference checklist one month from the current mention date (October 20).

Justice Hamza adjourned the matter accordingly for the pretrial conference hearing and for the admitted facts to be executed and filed.
