The implementation of daylight saving has been suspended for this financial year (2022-2023).
This was announced by Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Youth and Sports Parveen Bala.
The suspension of daylight saving is due to the closure of schools at the end of this year’s school term on the 16th of December, 2022.
“The suspension of this year’s transition to daylight saving is to allow students to focus on their studies and prepare well for their external examinations as confirmed exam dates are scheduled from 29 November to 15 December 2022,” Mr Bala said.
This was the outcome of the consultation with relevant stakeholders after evaluating all submissions received.
