Decision on Tabuya’s status with PAP lingers
Mr Rabuka confirmed after PMC has gone through the disciplinary committee findings from their meeting yesterday; it will be then be tabled to the PEC for the final decision.

The People’s Executive Committee (PEC) of the People’s Alliance party (PAP) is expected to make a decision on Lynda Tabuya’s political future with the party this week.
This was confirmed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka. Yesterday, the People’s Management Committee (PMC) met at their headquarters in Knolly Street, Suva to go over the recommendations by the disciplinary committee.
The disciplinary committee had looked into the complaint against Ms Tabuya’s viral nude video that was circulated on social media on December 26, 2024.

“No not yet, the report is done but I have not gone through the recommendations,” Mr Rabuka said.
“It will be presented to us this week,” he said.
PA general secretary Sila Balawa said a decision was not expected at this point in time.
“They will have to consider the report and the PEC will have to meet later to look at whatever the PMC that met today (yesterday) recommends,” Mr Balawa said.
“The process is ongoing and there is nothing definite at this point in time.”
Mr Balawa said Ms Tabuya was given a chance to respond to the complaint made against her to the committee.
“The report has to be considered by the People’s Management Committee and then the People’s Executive Committee will make a decision later this week.”
