Defence Lawyer Awaits Details Client’s On Sureties

The defence lawyer representing an alleged murderer told the court yesterday she was still waiting to obtain details of her client’s sureties.
Nimita Sharma is representing accused Alivereti Lesukiyasawa, who is charged with one count of murder.
The accused appeared before High Court Judge, Justice Sunil Sharma at the High Court in Lautoka yesterday.

It is alleged that Lesukiyasawa, while heavily intoxicated, murdered the late 60-year-old Joseph Johnson on February 19 at Evan Street in Lautoka.
Ms Sharma also told the court that her client’s affidavit was still pending.
She sought seven days from the court to file the matter.
Lawyer, Alvin Singh represented the State.
The matter has been adjourned to October 4 for mention.
