People’s Alliance (PA) party vice president Ratu Josefa Dimuri has tipped that Lynda Tabuya will do justice in her new role if she is appointed as Minister for Information.

During an interview in Labasa on Friday, he confirmed that he hasn’t received an update on her appointment yet.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed outside Parliament this week that her appointment will probably be by the end of the week.

Ms Tabuya was dismissed from her role as Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection last year following public controversy surrounding a private video which got leaked.

Last week, Mr Rabuka said Ms Tabuya would be an ideal candidate as Minister for Information.

“She is very capable of handling information, flexible and open to the media,” Ratu Josefa said.

“It’s good for the media when she will be appointed as Minister for Information as you can get her any time.”

He confidently said that she was popular with the young people and would do a great job.
