For Melika Rora Bainikalou a disability has never been a barrier, it has simply been part of her search for a career pathway.

This week, she stood proudly among fellow graduates of the Fiji National University (FNU), receiving her Certificate in Music Level Four.

It is a milestone that shows her unwavering commitment to personal growth and passion for the arts.

Living with partial vision, Ms Bainikalou's academic path has not been without its challenges.

But through it all, she credits the support of FNU's Disability Resource Centre as a cornerstone of her success.

"I'm truly grateful to the team at the Disability Resource Centre," Ms Bainikalou said.

"The support has helped me stay focused, even when things got difficult."

Ms Bainikalou's achievement is more than just a personal victory it's a message of empowerment.

She believes that no disability should ever stand in the way of someone's dreams, a principle she's embodied through every note played and every class completed.

Looking ahead, her ambitions continue to soar.

With her certificate in hand, Ms Bainikalou now hopes to take the next step in her journey by joining one of the nation's defence forces, aiming to serve her country with the same dedication she has shown in her studies.

"I've always wanted to contribute in a meaningful way," she said.

"This is just the beginning."

As Ms Bainikalou moves forward, her story serves as a powerful reminder:

With determination and the right support, anything is possible.
