Saraswati College’s head boy, Prajesh Ben Narayan, and head girl, Risha Sneha Karan, will ensure that discipline is maintained throughout this year.

The two were inducted on Friday along with class captains, school prefects, and deputies.

Prajesh said being inducted as the head boy of the school was a privilege.

“It is an honour to be chosen for this role, and I know the other students will look up to us as role models.

It will not be an easy task, but I know that anything is possible if we work hard,” the 18-year-old said.

“It can be nerve-wracking, but we will do our best.

“We have a team of prefects and will ensure that we balance the workload as a team. I am the eldest in my family, and I always ensure that I am a good role model to my siblings, and that will not change here at the school,” the 17-year-old said.

“My dad is a taxi driver, and see seeing him struggle encourages me to try and be a better version of myself. The struggles my family goes through have moulded me to be strong.

I wanted to make my dad proud, and when I told him about my new role, he was happy.

“I know I am not the only one who faces struggles, and that is why I will ensure to bring myself down to the students’ level and understand their struggles.

I will always encourage students to focus on their studies and think of the long-term goal.

It is okay to have struggles.”

Risha aspires to become a doctor, whereas Prajesh aims to become a software engineer.
