Don't Remove e-Ticketing Urges Bus Operators

The Fiji Bus Operators Association (FBOA) has called on Government not to remove the electronic ticketing (e-ticketing) bus fare scheme.

The call comes after the Minister for Public Works, Transport, and Meteorological Services, Ro Filipe Tuisawau announced that Government would be reviewing the e-ticketing system.

Association president Richard Lal said there was a need to review the e-ticketing system because of its benefits to commuters, drivers and bus companies.

Since the introduction of the scheme, FBOA has noticed a drop in cases of drivers being robbed because they do not carry cash, said Mr Lal.
