“I ask our Fijian people please do not use the RFMF as a platform to achieve your own political ambitions which you could not achieve by coming through the gate,” Mr Tikoduadua said.

Do not use the Republic of Fiji Military Forces as a platform to achieve your own political ambitions.

That’s the statement from Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua.

In Parliament yesterday, Mr Tikoduadua said it was unfortunate that since the announcement of the outcome of the 2022 General Election, some people, including politicians who had failed to earn power legitimately at the polls continue their attempts to destabilise the security of the nation.

“It is the rule of law that they do not want to respect,” Mr Tikoduadua said.

“They continually incite and propagate for the RFMF to take power, essentially to remove the elected Government.

“Abusing constitutional provisions support their illegal desire to take power at any cost.”

He said attempts to remove any government through the barrel of the gun must stop.

“No more coups!”

He said the Fijian people desired peace and any person or group that wished to disrupt peace and our security deserves to be opposed and resisted accordingly to the law.

“I ask our Fijian people please do not use the RFMF as a platform to achieve your own political ambitions which you could not achieve by coming through the gate,” Mr Tikoduadua said.

“It is the reason why the Judiciary is the third arm of the state. It is there to hear and judge our grievances. Use it.

“Let me assure all Fijians, your security is secured. It is our concern. It’s our responsibility.”
