DPP Seeks Time To File Malolo Information

The Nadi Magistrates Court has granted the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) time to seek and serve further disclosures.

In Court, a representative of Freesoul Real Estate Development (Fiji) PTE Ltd, appeared before Resident Magistrate Peni Dalituicama yesterday charged with two separate counts: One count of undertaking unauthorised developments and one count of failure to comply with a prohibition notice under the Environment Management Act 2005.

DPP lawyer Julianne Fatiaki represented the State while lawyer David Toganivalu of Toganivalu and Vuetibau lawyers represented Freesoul Real Estate Development (Fiji) PTE Ltd.

The court heard that the company, Freesoul Real Estate Development (Fiji) PTE Ltd did breach its assessment and failed to comply with orders given on June, 1, 2018 on its project in Malolo, Nadroga.

Project officer, Saula Sovanivalu, appeared on behalf of the company and understood the charges when read out.

The court heard that the prosecution had served the disclosures and sought time to serve further disclosures.

Magistrate Dalituicama deferred the plea and issued a $2000 bail bond. The matter was adjourned to April 26, 2019 for mention.
