Dr Jemesa Tudravu has been appointed the Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services.

This was confirmed last night by Public Service Commission chair, Luke Rokovada.

Dr Tudravu has been acting role since Dr James Fong’s resignation in December last year.

He is an orthopaedic surgeon and health administrator with more than 30 years of experience both locally and abroad.

He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the ministry, strengthening the leadership team of the ministry.

“His blend of skills and insights will play a pivotal role in advancing the ministry’s mission and objectives,” Mr Rokavada said.

“We are confident that under his guidance, the Ministry will thrive and achieve new heights in improving health care services delivery. His appointment represents a significant milestone and we are excited about the opportunities ahead under his leadership,” he said.

  • Medical Superintendent Labasa Hospital;
  •  Medical Superintendent CWM Hospital;
  • Current appointment as Chief Medical Advisor for MOHMS since 2020
