A taxi driver was allegedly caught watching pornography and making sexual advances while driving a young girl on Thursday night.
The incident, captured on video, went viral on Friday, prompting public outrage and calls for urgent action to improve passenger safety.
The Fiji Taxi Association has condemned the driver's behaviour, stressing that all taxi operators must abide by the law and prioritise passenger safety.

"This behaviour is unacceptable," said association general secretary Ashwin Lal.
"Passengers should note the taxi's number plate, record evidence, and report such incidents to the police and the Land Transport Authority (LTA).”
He reminded drivers that using mobile phones while driving was illegal, regardless of the reason.
“Some drivers talk to their wives or girlfriends while driving. This is not allowed. If there is an emergency, they should stop the vehicle before answering.”
The viral footage has also drawn concern from politicians. Opposition MP Ketan Lal urged the Ministry of Transport, LTA, and other authorities to take immediate action.
He recommended:
- Mandatory in-cab stickers displaying hotline numbers and QR codes for reporting harassment.
- Visible driver identification in every taxi with a complaint contact number.
- Incentives for drivers to install CCTV or dashcams for accountability, and
- Mandatory training on gender sensitivity and professional conduct for all public service vehicle (PSV) drivers.
“Our women deserve to feel safe and respected,” Mr Lal said.
“They should never have to fear for their dignity or safety while simply trying to get home.”
LTA chief executive officer Irimaia Rokosawa has also reminded all PSV drivers to uphold civility and respect when dealing with passengers.
He warned that strict penalties apply to those who breached the code of conduct.
“Drivers are prohibited from using offensive language or making inappropriate remarks,” he said.
“The LTA enforces strict penalties to maintain high standards of service and safety.”.
