Driver claims he dozed off before Tabia road accident

A man in his 40s from Savusavu is admitted at Labasa Hospital after a road accident near Movo Junction in Tabia yesterday.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident, saying the single‑vehicle crash allegedly occurred when the driver dozed off behind the wheel.

The man reportedly told police he fell asleep, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and hit a post.

Ms Naisoro said officers attended the scene shortly after the accident was reported, and investigations are underway.

The extent of the man’s injuries has not been disclosed. He remains under medical observation.
