Dux Student, Rivansha Places Christ First

Always putting her savior, Jesus Christ, first gave Rivansha Autar the confidence and belief of attaining the dux award at Shiri Guru Nanak Khalsa Primary School.

On Tuesday, during the prizegiving ceremony the 14-year-old lass of Siberia, Labasa, took top honors for scoring 453 marks out of 500 in the Year Eight Annual Examination.

The Open Heaven Church member said she had been mediating, Colossians 3: 23, from the Holy Bible as a daily motivation.

The scripture reads: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if working for the Lord and not for men.

“I don’t study for the sake of studying as being a student, but as a good Christian doing my part and trusting God to take care of my plans” said the second eldest of two siblings.

“If we respect God, be obedient to parents and those in authority such as teachers by doing what they tell us, surely blessings will follow.”

Capturing the dux award is a first for her family. She aspires to be a dentist

“I am thankful to my parents for the beautiful upbringing so that I can study the way I feel is right according to God’s will,” she said.
