Early Christmas Gift, $7k For WOWS Kids Fiji

WOWS Kids Fiji received an early Christmas present of $7000 from the Lautoka Golf Club on Saturday.
Club chairman of trustees, Raymond Singh said helping children suffering from cancer was an inspiration that boosted the morale and support towards a worthy cause.
“The Lautoka Golf Club is keen to again make its WOWS Kids Fiji fundraising event successful this year as a Christmas gift to children suffering from cancer,” he said.

He added the club members will embark on the project as an annual event.
Last year, the club raised $6000 for the same cause.

Oncology nurse at the Lautoka Hospital, Laisa Raisamu, said the kind gesture would go a long way in assisting children who have cancer in the country.
“These funds will be used to assist children in transportation to and from to the hospital. If children are admitted at the hospital they will be supplied with special care."
“They are also given monthly groceries as they come from families which are not financially stable. Even assisted with passports and airfares for treatment overseas,” Ms Raisamu said.
WOWS Kids Fiji is looking after 73 children diagnosed with cancer across the Nation.
“We have 26 patients where five a palliative cases – we support them with end of life care,” Ms Raisamu said.
