EFL Issued With Prohibition Notice
Mr Raceva said the fuel discharge into the sea had been affecting the livelihood of the village for years and it was a major concern for them.

Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) has been issued with a prohibition notice for discharging fuel into the environment, polluting the environment causing a threat to the marine ecosystem.
The notice signed by Director of Environment, Sandeep Kaur Singh, stated an inspection was carried out by the Department of Environment officers on February 20, confirming that EFL (Kinoya Power Station) had breached the Environment Management Act 2005 and the Environment Management (Waste Disposal and Recycling) Regulations 2007.
Ms Singh, through the notice, has prohibited EFL (Kinoya Power Station) from the activity of discharging fuel into the environment.
