The Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations through the National Employment Centre (NEC) recently held an awareness outreach programme on the services provided by the NEC at the Galoa Community Hall organised by the Fiji Police Force.

The Galoa community was made aware of the three main services currently offered under the Centre which are formal employment, foreign employment and Fiji Volunteer Service.

During this awareness, the ministry encouraged all unskilled youths in Galoa to register with the Centre as it will set a good platform for them to embark on any employment opportunities or to provide assistance in setting up their own business and take advantage of the financial assistance provided by the Government.

Other Government agencies such as the Fiji Corrections Service, Social Welfare department; Ministry of Health and the Fiji Police Force Drug Unit were also part of the community awareness outreach programme on that day.

The outreach programme will be an ongoing event and the most recent one was held at the Navutulevu Community Hall.

The Government officials present at the Galoa Village Hall were thanked for taking their time out to visit the grassroots people which was an indication of their level of commitment to the public.
