Opposition leader Inia Seruiratu has called for an end to ministerial visits that do not benefit taxpayers and the people of Fiji.

This statement was made in response to the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka’s report on the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCS) which he attended in Doha, Qatar.

Mr Seruiratu questioned the decision to attend a meeting that focused on the least developed countries and suggested that an Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) meeting would have been a more appropriate choice.
