Suva lawyer, Emosi Radrodro is not going to shy away from the legal battle brought on by the Christian Mission Fellowship International Pastor Manasa Kolivuso after he was served with a defamation notice days ago.

The notice was related to several Facebook posts made by Mr Radrodro calling Pastor Kolivuso out and allegedly defaming him for the unpaid charter flight that took pilgrims to the 2023 Feast of Tabernacles in Israel.

On Christmas eve, Pastor Kolivuso outlined his side of the story in a lengthy Facebook post.

As of this morning, the post had been shared 1,000 times and had received over 600 comments, mostly in support of him.

Many thanked Pastor Kolivuso for his honesty and apology.

While responding to the defamation notice, Mr Radrodro said everything he posted was solely based on facts and truth and that this was just an attempt to silence and intimidate him from expressing freedom of speech.

“It is alleged that I am responsible for third-party comments, however, any potentially defamatory comments were promptly removed upon receipt of the notice,” Mr Radrodro said.

“In contrast, there remain numerous comments mocking the pastor and the church, some potentially defamatory, on an FBC TV video that has been online for over 12 weeks prior to my post.

“I reposted that material solely to highlight these inconsistencies and contradictions.”

Mr Radrodro remains public on his social media about this topic and has confirmed that he has engaged a senior lawyer for this case.

“Out of professional courtesy, I will respond formally in the New Year with my lawyer. There is no cause for concern,” he said.

“My comments relate to matters of public interest, are based on facts, and reflect my honest opinion, all of which are protected by law.

“Any threat of defamation proceedings does not change that position.”
