Ex-FRA boss gets $45k for unlawful termination

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) former chief executive officer, Kamal Prasad has settled for $45,000 on his civil case against the company for his claims of unlawful termination.

Prasad filed the case against FRA on August 18, 2023, claiming his termination was unlawful, unfair and in breach of the Employment Contract.

He sought remedies including balance of contract, damages for humiliation and legal costs.

On January 13, this year, the defendants sought settlement outside of court to which the Plaintiff agreed.

Both parties agreed to have the claims against each other withdrawn and $45,000 be given to Prasad.

The plaintiff lawyer, Damodaran Nair filed a Notice of Discontinuance on January 30 upon which the High Court in Suva granted the notice.
