The Government clarifies that civil servants in the Northern, Eastern, and Central divisions must report to work as normal tomorrow ( Monday, March 2).

This follows Government's warning about a fake social media post that falsely claims civil servants do not need to report to work tomorrow.

The message, which stated “NO WORK TOMORROW – 2nd March”, has been confirmed as fake news.

Officials say the post is a deliberate act of disinformation intended to mislead the public and undermine the credibility of official Government communications.

In a statement, the Government clarified the correct advisory for civil servants across the country:

  • Western Division: Only essential services are to resume duties due to ongoing conditions affecting the division.
  • Northern, Eastern and Central Divisions: All civil servants are required to report to work as normal on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Authorities are urging the public to rely solely on verified information released through official Government channels, cautioning that misinformation circulating online can create unnecessary confusion and disrupt public services.

Government representatives reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring timely and accurate public updates, particularly during periods of heightened public concern.
