Family Hold Out Hope For Missing Father

Sahim Dean, 43 said there had been no sight of his 66-year-old father Tabu Nizamu Dean.

His father was reported missing from the Lomolomo beach on April 7 despite his family’s continuous search.

Mr Dean said his father was a boat watcher for those who left their boats at the Lomolomo beach for two nights a week.

“My father came midday on Thursday to watch someone’s boat, according to other people’s statements, everybody left that day and he was here from 2pm then around 5’o clock someone called the boat owner to tell him that his boat was right on the shore,” he said.

“Then he (boat owner) drove his vehicle here to the beach and he figured out at 5pm my dad was missing after he saw the boat drifting. He then called me at 5.30pm asking if my dad was home and said your dad has gone missing.”

He said a Police diving team did a search on Saturday and Sunday (April 9-10) but could not find any sign of Mr Dean’s father.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that Tabu Nizamu Dean was reported missing from the Lomolomo beach at 5.15 pm on April 7.
