Family Mourns Death of Kaiava Francis

The death of Kaiava Francis, 21, has left his family members in Fiji in shock after he was reported to have drowned at the Detners dam in Kansas, United States of America, last Saturday.
According to an international media report, Kake Television in Wichita, Kansas, Francis was reported to have jumped from the dam during a swim with his friends and was swept away by the current at the Neosho River.
It was reported that his body was recovered on the same day and was taken away by the local authorities for identification.

“When I received the news, I didn’t know how to react, I was in shock,” a close family member, who wished to remain unanimous, said.
The second eldest of four siblings, Francis was from Wailevu, Labasa, who shared maternal links to Waibasaga, Wainimala, Naitasiri.
