Family Mourns Loss Of Dad
He was a retired Police officer and farmer. He died after he was carrying out repair works under the tractor when the alleged incident occurred.

Members of family in Malamala, outside Nadi are still coming to terms with the death of their father.
Rajesh Chandra, 65, lost his life after being trapped under a tractor on Tuesday night.
He was a retired Police officer and farmer. He died after he was carrying out repair works under the tractor when the alleged incident occurred.

His son Raymond Chandra, 40, said they were notified of the incident in the evening.
Raymond Chandra’s late dad had been staying alone after his wife died in September last year.
“We were notified by our neighbour,” he said.
Raymond Chandra said his father would be missed by their community.
“He was very helpful, doing a lot of social work in the villages moving around helping the people,” he added.
“He was a person who was always offering help to others. And there was a very good relationship between him and the villagers, including the people around the community."
“It’s a very sad loss for the family because we loved him so much. It is not only the family, but our community as well.”
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident occurred after 6pm.
“The victim was carrying out repair works under the tractor when the alleged incident occurred. Investigations continue.”
The late Rajesh Chandra is originally from Vunidoidoi in Labasa and joined the Fiji Police Force in 1976.
He retired in 2012 as a Sergeant at the Border Police stationed in Nadi International Airport.
He served most of his life in Ba and was part of the peacekeeping mission to Kosovo too.
The family is waiting for the post mortem examination results be- fore that late Mr Chandra’s funeral arrangements are confirmed.
He is survived by his children with six grandchildren.
