He has been teaching in Fiji for the past five years.
He said he was eager to hold his baby in his hands.
“The day my baby is born will be the happiest day of my life.”
Their journey is yet to be completed as the expectancy is due sometime next year, 2023.
According to the couple, their journey has had many ups and downs, but with every obstacle, they have compelled each other and tackled it with great positivity.
Mr Chandra said it was quite challenging to cope with the change in lifestyle from being single to married.
“One of the major challenges I face is when my wife is having cravings at odd hours during this time of pregnancy,” he said.
“As a husband and future father, it is my responsibility to meet the demands of my wife, during the phase of pregnancy.”
Mr Chandra said: “its been a great learning experience for me as I get to discover more about my wife and her behavioral changes during pregnancy. I am learning about her emotional changes as well as mental and physical.”
“Every challenge is a great challenge, whether big or small, but as a male individual I believe, “if love is present, every challenge can and will be overcome”.
“I believe I have developed a telepathic connection with my unborn child, a father’s love this is, I would say.
“It is a feeling much immense for which words are not sufficient to describe, but actions to show.”
He said he was excited as well as disheartened since he lost his father last year.
“This year, my wife and I will be celebrating Father’s Day at the prestigious Tanoa Sky Lodge located in Nadi,” he said.
“We have agreed on having a small prayer session and refreshments.
“We are excited and looking forward to this occasion as it brings us great joy knowing we are soon to be parents.”
Mr Chandra also encouraged fathers to enjoy this occassion as it was a great time to build a stronger relationship between a father and a child.
“This initiative can be portrayed to children about the importance of a father in their lives and how this role can help the child move forward in life and become a great successor,” he said.
“A father plays one of the most important roles in the upbringing of their child.
“Their sense of love, care and protection can be seen a mile away.”
