Farmer’s Son Scoops Year 12 Dux Award

Farmer’s son, Roheel Nath of Votualevu College in Nadi was named Dux of Year 12 on Wednesday.
He received a score of 379 out of 400.
The 17-year-old, along with the rest of the Year 9 to Year 11 Dux, agreed that this year will be crucial for them all as they attempt to thrive academically.

“This is year is an important year for me to strive to be the best and achieve my goals,” Roheel said.
Because there was so much competition at the school, Roheel said it was difficult to be the dux and obtain excellent grades.
“There was a lot of competition in our class, but we formed a study group together and it was an amazing experience.”
He said that the hardships his family had as a result of their farming upbringing pushed him to aspire for a better life so that he could help his parents.
“My parents came from a farming background."
"The struggles we experienced from that background pushes me to work hard and be dedicated to my studies to have a better life in order to help my parents."
“I want to thank my parents, teachers who have supported me for this achievement,” Roheel said.
Kelera Railoa, the Chief Guest and an ex-scholar, encouraged the graduates to live a life of dedication and commitment to their studies.
