Crime in the country will decrease if our youths are more focused with engaging in large scale farming, the Minister for Agriculture and Water ways, Vatimi Rayalu said.

He made the statement during the Ovalau Dalo Farmers Training programme last Friday

“I leave it to you to make that decision, but do know that we are trying to build a better and prosperous Fiji,” Mr Rayalu said.

“We need more youths to step up and create ripples in our communities that will ensure prosperity and success in the long term.”

“The world is evolving and so is agriculture. You need to learn new techniques and also keep updated on the markets and its demands. This training will enable you to see agriculture in a different light as we now live in a competitive world," Mr Rayalu said.

"If you want to be successful in your respective farming ventures, then you need to do things right and of course be determined and believe that you are going to be the best farmer in your respective villages."
