Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa is facing mounting criticism, with the Prime Minister's Office receiving multiple complaints against him.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who chairs the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), confirmed the complaints and outlined the process for handling them.
"I have received many reports, complaints against the Commissioner of the FCS," Mr Rabuka said.

The COC, responsible for appointing the Commissioner, will follow a structured process to address the allegations.
"We will have to deal with those complaints according to the process that is supposed to be observed by the COC," the PM added.
He noted that, as per protocol, the accused would be given time to respond before further discussions at the next COC meeting tomorrow.
One of the complaints involves the appointment of Mr Nakarawa's wife, a nursing practitioner, to the FCS. In a statement, the FCS defended the appointment, citing Section 130(7) of the Constitution, which grants the Commissioner authority to make administrative decisions.
"This section allows the Commissioner to make general administrative policy to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its performance," the FCS statement explained. Mr Rabuka added that the issue would be discussed in the upcoming COC meeting tomorrow.
