It is good to see students from different backgrounds coming together to participate in the celebration
Students of Gandhi Bhawan Primary School in Lautoka celebrated Holi, most commonly known as the “Festival of Colours”, yesterday.
School headteacher Chander Kumar reminded students that Holi had strengthened the bond between people from different ethnicities and unified them.

She added that myths sometimes helped people to be good and truthful.
“The festival has reminded us of the victory of good over evil and help bring societies together,” she said.
“The festival is also celebrated by non-Hindus and many have enjoyed being part of such a colourful and joyous event.
“Even enemies become friends during Holi, they put colours on each other and are united.
“Basically we are strengthening the bonds between people so let’s hope that this year’s event will take away all ill feelings that we have and let us put colours on each other and enjoy the festival with enthusiasm.”
Ms Kumar said it was good to see students from different backgrounds coming together to participate in the celebration.
“This is a multi-racial school so it is good to see children from different background taking the initative to take part.
“From the school staff we would like to wish everyone a happy Holi.”
