The Fiji Council of Churches (FCC) used its annual Ecumenical Resurrection Sunday to promote youth engagement, leadership and faith-based responses to social issues affecting young people.
The multi-faceted service was held at the Suva Civic Centre last Sunday.
The FCC has continued the tradition since 2017, bringing together churches across Fiji to celebrate Christ’s resurrection in unity.

The programme included ecumenical worship, youth testimonies, guest speakers, cultural performances, and united prayer for Fiji.
Council general secretary Reverend Sepiuta Hala’api’api said the event provided a national platform for unity, youth empowerment and hope.
“Events such as the Ecumenical Youth Resurrection Sunday programme are significant for Fiji because they focus on a rising generation of our nation, diverse in their denominations yet united in addressing the social issues we face,” Reverend Hala’api’api said.
She said the drug crisis in Fiji required more proactive programmes to keep young people engaged, particularly during school holidays.
“We are proud of the passion, creativity, and faith displayed by our young people as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord,” she said.
