Fiji Link’s newest ATR aircraft has arrived in Nadi after completing a multi-day delivery flight across eight countries, Fiji Airways confirmed today.

The aircraft touched down in Nadi on January 7, following a ferry journey that began in Toulouse, France, where the aircraft was manufactured. It travelled through Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and the Solomon Islands before arriving in Fiji.

Fiji Airways said the arrival marked an important milestone in its ongoing investment in domestic and regional connectivity.

Fiji Link, the domestic and regional subsidiary of Fiji Airways, plays a key role in connecting remote communities and supporting inter-island travel and economic activity, particularly in the outer islands.

Fiji Airways chief Fiji Link and cargo operations officer Athil Narayan said the new aircraft would strengthen connectivity across Fiji and the wider Pacific.

“This new ATR is more than a fleet renewal. Every new aircraft allows us to further strengthen domestic and regional connectivity. It brings people together and creates opportunities for connection, trade and shared experiences across our islands and the Pacific,” he said.

The aircraft will enhance Fiji Link’s operations with improved fuel efficiency, better performance in island environments and increased passenger comfort.

Final preparations are now under way before the ATR enters service, with Fiji Airways saying it will be deployed on key domestic routes to support tourism growth and inter-island travel.
