Fiji Medical Association president Dr Vakamocea resigns
Dr Ronal Kumar appointed acting president until August 2026 elections

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has announced the resignation of its president, Dr Alipate Vakamocea, citing personal commitments.
In a statement issued today, the association acknowledged Dr Vakamocea’s service and leadership, thanking him for his contributions to advancing the organisation’s mission and supporting the medical profession in Fiji.
Following his resignation, Dr Ronal Kumar has been appointed acting president and will serve until FMA elections scheduled for August 2026.

The association said Dr Kumar will lead the organisation during the interim period as it continues its work with members and the wider medical community.
FMA also confirmed its ongoing commitment to serving its members and maintaining engagement across the health sector during the leadership transition.
