Fiji, New Zealand Cops Bust Major Drug Ring

New Zealand media Newshub has revealed that Fiji Police Force and their New Zealand counterparts undertook a joint operation – Operation Nova in their war against drugs.
It was during this operation that a Canadian national was arrested at Caubati, Nasinu, for allegedly being in possession of 39 kg of cocaine.
While Fiji Police Force did not wish to reveal further details about this operation, overseas media revealed that arrests had been made in New Zealand and drugs were allegedly brought in from the United States of America.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said they would not release any more details because the case was in court.
According to Newshub, New Zealand and Fiji Police recently busted a group allegedly involved in smuggling methamphetamine NZ Police from the US into New Zealand.
Four men were arrests arrested in New Zealand on money laundering and drug charges - a 50-year- old New Zealand national, a 33-year-old Chinese national, a 60-year-old Canadian national and a 19-year-old US national.
They have all been charged and appeared in the Auckland District Court on February 13.
The investigation began in December 2018 after New Zealand customs found 5kg of methamphetamine inside a “cooking appliance”.
Through the investigation, NZ Police found an additional 6kg of the drug in cooking appliances, including hidden under a panel in a hot dog grill.
Police said the overall value of the 11kg seized was FJ$7.91million.
