Fiji Police: 11-Year-Old Girl Alleged To Have Committed Suicide In Vatuwaqa

A 11-year-old girl is alleged to have committed suicide for reasons still being investigated by Police.

Police said the victim resides at a settlement in Vatuwaqa and was found by her sister inside their home yesterday afternoon.

Investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding her death and a post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

12 people have become victims of suicide in 2019 compared to eight for the same period last year.

Police have recorded 16 cases of attempted suicide cases compared to 6 for the same period last year.
