Police chief of intelligence and investigations Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sakeo Raikaci says the police taskforce is continuing investigations and gathering evidence and statements into the alleged misappropriation of funds at the Fiji Police Credit Union (FPCU).

This was after allegations had surfaced on misappropriation of funds at the FPCU last October.

On March 20, former Police chief of intelligence and investigations, ACP Surend Sami, was questioned by Police at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Suva, in relation to the Police Credit Union case.

“Investigations into this report and other cases of national interest are running parallel to each other and once investigators gather enough evidence to bring suspects in for questioning, that will be done,” ACP Raikaci said.

“Investigations will not be rushed as we want to ensure a solid outcome in court, and this can only be achieved if the investigators are not rushed with conducting their work.”

ACP Raikaci said other people were expected to be questioned later after the gathering of evidence.
