Fiji Police Force Changes Recruitment Qualification

The Fiji Police Force (FPF) has reviewed its recruitment criteria by removing the requirement for a driver’s licence.
Yesterday, Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew said in the next intake, “we would do away with the driver’s licence requirement.
“Not everyone can afford a manual driver’s licence apart from candidates residing at urban centers,” Mr Chew said.

Some candidates from rural areas may have the required Minimum Qualification Requirement (MQR), but without a driver’s licence, so it will be a disadvantage to them, he said.
In its bid to attract the best suitable candidates, the FPF removed the licence criteria. The Year 12 pass requirement will remain.
